My Secret Sister – 11 weeks in Sunday Times bestseller list and 8 weeks at number 1 on Amazon biographies!
‘My Secret Sister’ by Helen Edwards and Jenny Lee Smith is STILL going strong in the bestseller lists and still attracting interest from various quarters. Helen and Jenny had a film crew following them around for eight hours last Wednesday and the result of that will be on an internet utube programme, fronted by Lorraine Kelly and sponsored by Genes Reunited. It’s currently being edited and should be available on the internet shortly. Meanwhile, other plans are afoot!
Today, 5th June 2013, was the publishing launch of my most recent ghostritten boook: ‘TRANSFORMING PRISONERS’ LIVES’, told through the prionsers’ own stories. Also launched with the book was the exciting new charity that supports and promotes the work of its author Jackie Hewitt-Main. As Jackie and her innovative work in prisons has attracted a number of high-profile parliamentary supporters, we were invited to hold the launch of the book and the charity in the Houses of Parliament.
We were very privileged to have the Secretary of State for Justice, the Right Hon Chris Grayling giving the opening speech, and the function was attended by about 15 MPs, two Lords, a Baroness and several erudite individuals from a wide range of key organisations, as well as Jackie’s family and a number of ex-prisoners whose stories are told in the book.
From today, ‘Transforming Prisoners’ Lives’, by Jackie Hewitt-Main is available to buy as a paperback or ebook on Amazon or direct from The Cascade Foundation’s website at www.thecascadefoundation.org .
As the blurb says: ‘Moving and inspirational, this is the story of how one dyslexic woman’s vision and determination broke down the barriers, decimated the reoffending rate and transformed the lives of prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families’
